Under the bright sunlight kissing the spring leaves,
northerly wind quietly surged across the rivers,
towards the awaiting shore.
Lightly touching the canopy of green leaves,
Above the shimmering blue sea,
It shifted it’s gaze as quickly as it could be.
The direction it took was far astray,
Having crippled a branch,
it had bent it as such,
The tree standing at the shore felt,
as if it had been unwillingly touched.
The wind had moved along as it had come.
For a moment in time,
left its presence lingering through space,
It neither paused nor waited for anyone.
Far away quickly the cold-dry wind blew,
Unaware of what the branch had felt,
or of what it had itself done,
it held absolutely no clue.
Through the days that came,
Many more exotic sites had it exploited by then,
Many more leaves were moved carelessly by the wind,
Distant and trenchant it brushed through them in a gripping rush,
And then forgetting all it had done,
It continued to move on endlessly to the next,
with an unforgivable hush.

Midnight Swan
The moon beamed through the green velvet leaves,
As her reflection struck by calm mystified lake,
he silently stood beside her,
A world so unreal appeared to be true,
Though the night was dying away,
They stood holding hands, wide awake.
The sun had set long ago,
Intimidating darkness made no difference,
The vast blanket of dark blue sky,
softly embraced the twinkling stars with a familiar essence.
Calm accompanied the ghastly depth of the night,
Stillness while they stood together so close,
Hands held graciously but tight,
For the two of them,
felt this was so right.
In the deep blue lake there floated a swan,
The white beautiful figure looked through the sands of time.
The night was to end sooner than one would have thought,
But like the two, he wished the night would forever go on.
Not every moment is perfect it had learnt,
Had watched several others on this path before,
The swan faced the moon humming it’s silent rhyme,
suave smooth eyes mirrored the stories from the past,
Grief for what was lost through time,
Cast away shadows in the darkness that felt vast.
Wise with time the swan had become,
Floated into the darkness towards the uprising moon,
Silently prayed that the mystery would uncover soon,
And that the two naïve souls would make these moments last,
Without turning the innocent sweet memories into,
nothing more than memories from the past.

The necklace
Quietness of the night,
echoed across the room.
On the cherry wood floor,
silently it laid.
Features so perfectly round and shaped,
it gleamed plush white,
as it's gems reflected the beaming light.
A mere fallacy,
was what she lived in,
through the eyes of her mind.
A thin silver thread,
had garnered her wishes,
to help her escape the cruelty of time.
With her hopes and dreams,
it was abruptly snipped,
into two distinct halves.
What about it was so beautiful;
was a simple fanciful assembly of the pearls,
that it was made up of.
Nothing can be perfect,
is what someone had told her once.
Counting on her blessings,
the thought never occurred,
if it could ever be her loss.
Though the pearls were so pure and fine,
The connecting thin silver thread,
had it's own very minute hidden flaws.
She had held the necklace in her hand,
ran her fingers through the pearls,
touched them gently, she turned them in swirls.
And then one day,
massive ominous clouds covered the blue sky,
a quick lightning struck,
while the thunderstorms exploded,
with the clouds' mighty cry.
And the the necklace started to fall apart,
while some pearls endeavored to stay close.
so she held onto them with her enclosed fist,
trying to stop the pearls from falling through the open end,
and she felt definite tension in her wrist.
The storm was too strong,
it took her efforts away,
while she tried in desperation to hound.
she held onto some pearls in the string,
while one by one,
they started to descend with a painful sound.
The clatter of the pearls,
filled the air,
with immense energy they fell towards the ground,
bounced back and forth,
and then finally came to a rest,
some far, some near, but they were all around.
The beauty of the necklace didn't cease to exist,
the pearls continued to gloat their pride,
reflecting the sun's rays amidst the gray clouds,
they had no regrets for falling apart,
across and wide.
Together in the silver string or,
all by themselves,
they were still the same magnificent,
precious pearls.
If need be, they could always be brought together,
to form the necklace that was once hers.

Lost Memories
Moments from the past captured by the lens,
bring back some smiles,
as I walk across the eroded,
yet so fresh memory lane,
and the clock ticks away slower, hence.
That one picture of you and me,
sends shivers down my spine.
Warmth spreads across my cheeks,
while my heart beat fades away,
as I inadvertently pause my breath.
There is a feeling,
feeling unexpressed.
it's the obscurity of the fog,
an uncertainty which keeps it all repressed.
As the days pass by,
something is lost..
In the depth of the ocean,
and the width of the sky,
a sparkle, a raindrop is lost,
amidst a confused silent cry.

Denouement of the Eclipse
Shimmer-shimmer all across,
Red gleam osculates the skies,
Darkness slowly crawls aback,
And the night’s abyss fades away.
Gently oh gently the snow falls,
Blanket of snow reserves the ground warm.
Essence of winter and festive season is here,
Cinnamon, chocolate and Christmas aromas dissipate in the air.
Wrapped up in a shawl I sit by the window,
Sipping the oh so wonderful; hot chocolate,
Warmth on my lips and depth in my heart,
Legs stretched to the front and crossed,
I rest my head against a soft and cozy pillow.
A silent murmur of the chilling winds,
despite the sun awaiting to rise soon at the coast,
beautiful is this moment as I sit engulfed;
by the warmth of red, orange and gold,
nevertheless a mere step outside,
would be noxious in this piercing cold.
Lost soul was revived,
as the flames from the fireplace shaped my thoughts.
With intensity so high and unrelenting zeal,
The burning flames whispered their warmth and let me heal.
Softly oh softly kissed my cheek,
Eyes closed, head aback, a breath so deep and invigorating,
Realized it was time to live in this moment,
To cherish the memories from the past,
Plan for the future like a mirage of dream cascading,
And that we must love to live every moment while it lasts.

Sand castles
Across the beach was a precious little present,
a little girl sat with a twinkle in her eye,
blush on the cheek,
and called out to show what she had made,
with a cheerful little cry.
And then there was a tear on the pale cheek,
her majestic castle was shattered,
all she wanted was just a little water,
to tap the dream sculpture strong,
when the mighty innocent wave came by,
and did her wrong.
Who is to be blamed?
The sea had no intentions to make her cry,
but she didn't weep the way she was presumed to,
just one tear and she was done with the past,
she affirmed to build a home that would last.
Through the storms of time,
and thunders like the ones found in the wild,
she promised to build her castle with love so strong,
that nothing would ever pull it apart,
and then there was that twinkle; back in her eye,
her lips curved up; while she smiled.

The soft strain
While the clock ticks away slowly,
with a gleam in the eyes,
excitement in my voice,
I sing along to a familiar melody,
through my parted lips yet so softly.
Thinking about the memories we have built thus far,
turmoil of emotions discerned through the days,
appraised life to be too hard in one of our talks,
and then left the strenuous thought aside,
while we discovered our way through the unknown maze.
Swaying to the sweet notes gently,
I think of you as the days pass by; immensely,
through the lonely sunsets,
I am still with you,
the tunes from melodious tunes blind me from reality,
and then I realize with a shock so anew,
the presence of thorns is ascertained,
when there is an undying aspiration,
for the blossoming of fresh fragrant roses.
with a gleam in the eyes,
excitement in my voice,
I sing along to a familiar melody,
through my parted lips yet so softly.
